William Ray Norwood Jr., better known as Ray J, has found himself in serious trouble with the law. The “I Hit It First” singer has been charged with four serious crimes on Monday, July 21, resulting from his drunken antics last May, TMZ reports.
But the story gets much worse for the singer, songwriter and record producer because apparently the LA County District Attorney’s office has also charged him sexual battery, even though the police reported that the inappropriate encounter with the woman was “incidental” rather than “intentional.”

So what havoc did Ray J wreak last May? Kim Kardashian’s ex-boyfriend was getting wild at a bar at the Beverly Wilshire Hotel, Beverly Hills, California, and brushed up against a woman’s bottom before being asked to leave.
However, police revealed to TMZ that it was not sexual battery, because the musician apparently did not brush up against the woman intentionally. Guess the DA strongly disagrees.
Clearly, Ray J was not happy about being asked to leave and went crazy, landing him with an arrest, and according to TMZ he also “kicked out the window of a cop car and spit on an officer,” although the Mississippi-born star says he did this because he was claustrophobic.

Looks like Ray J’s headache is not going to go away anytime soon, either, because he’s also been charged with resisting arrest, assault and battery, and vandalism… all misdemeanors. Yikes!

While the other charges are unsurprising, the fact that Ray J has been slapped with a misdemeanor sexual battery charge is a surprise.
According to WetPaint, “In the California Penal code’s classifications for sexual assault, a misdemeanor sexual battery charge typically refers to intentional, non-consensual contact with an alleged victim’s intimate parts.”
