Emma Stone’s obsession with Colin Firth was too much for him

It’s easy to imagine that once someone has hit the A-list, they are all of a sudden above other actors. But for Emma Stone, she was given the chance to work with someone who she has been a fan of for years — and she made it apparent to him.

Stone and Colin Firth are starring in Woody Allen’s new movie, Magic in the Moonlight, and the actors talked about Stone’s obsession with Firth’s past works.

“I’ve seen Love Actually about 18 times,” Stone told the Daily Beast. “I’ve seen Bridget Jones too many times now. You were so upset with me! I live-texted Colin the plot of Bridget Jones: The Edge of Reason a few months back while I was watching it. You were very upset with me, if I remember correctly. I talked him through what he was doing.”

Firth said the flattery soon became a little annoying, because Stone would talk to him about his every move in those movies.

“She’s talking through my back catalog via text!” Firth joked. “I might decide to not revisit stuff in the past, and then you get a good friend saying, ‘Oh, when you were doing this you had this and that expression on your face.'”

Stone, who is currently dating another co-star of hers, added that her mom “absolutely does love Colin,” but that she has also “seen many of Colin’s movies.”

“You’re not the only person whose mother loves me,” Firth teased in the interview.

The co-stars obviously have developed a great rapport since they began working together and the admiration seems to be mutual. Stone ended the interview by expressing her feelings for Firth — while quoting one of his Bridget Jones lines.

“I like you very much… just as you are.”
