Better Call Saul billboard actually lets you call Saul

As if AMC needed more hype around its Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul. The network isn’t slacking in the creativity department, that’s for sure.

Breaking Bad finale: Celebrities react >>

A billboard appeared in Albuquerque directing viewers to call James M. McGill (Bob Odenkirk), which is the name Saul used before Saul Goodman, complete with a working phone number for our favorite immoral attorney.

The New York Daily News is reporting that the billboard appears to have been erected for filming purposes.

Better Call Saul will be led by Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan and will follow Saul’s character before, during and after meeting Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul) and the Breaking Bad story line. This, hopefully, means that aside from some fantastically shady clients that lead to adventure and mayhem for Saul, we haven’t seen the last of Walt, Jesse and other familiar faces.

Though we’re keeping our fingers crossed for cameos, it is likely the story will mostly focus on Saul’s adventures before meeting the chemistry teacher-turned-meth cooker. You can see in the billboard that Saul’s/James’ hair is longer and fuller. He also seems to be putting on an accent in the recording. The name James McGill suggests we’re going to see the transformation from McGill to Goodman throughout the series.

Listen to the voice mail recording from the phone number below.

Entertainment Weekly confirmed the voice mail was recorded by Odenkirk.

Aside from the billboard, fans can also interact with Saul online at his website www.bettercallsaul.com.

Netflix nabs screening rights to Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul >>

“Traffic accident? Better call Saul. Injured on the job? Call now. Confessed to a homicide? What are you waiting for?” Saul touts on his website in a banner, “Hi, welcome to the law office of Saul Goodman and associates.”

We can’t wait to see what other clever marketing schemes AMC comes up with. Better Call Saul is scheduled to premiere in 2015.
