Queen Elizabeth pulls off a royal photobomb

Queen Elizabeth II has proven to the world that she’s got a great sense of humor — she made the most epic photobomb.

The royal made a surprise visit during the 2014 Glasgow Commonwealth Games in Scotland on Thursday, and that was not the only surprise that she made during her unscheduled visit.

Her Majesty snuck into a selfie of two female hockey players, Jayde Taylor and Brooke Peris from Australia — the duo took the snap just before their opening match against Malaysia — and when the girls checked their snap, they were pleased with the result.

Taking to Twitter to share their epic snapshot, Jayde Taylor wrote, “Ahhh the Queen photo-bombed our selfie!! #royalty #sheevensmiled #amazing #Glasgow2014 @Hockeyroos @AusComGames”

According to TMZ, the ecstatic girls had always intended to get the queen in the background of their picture, but when Her Majesty realized what was going on she decided to be a good sport and flash them her massive grin.

And an awesome photobomb, which has now become a social media phenomenon, is not all that these lucky hockey players got. They also had a little chat with the queen.

“She asked us a bit about the pitch, how we were going and told us to enjoy our time here. She was lovely. Really, really lovely.”

We’re impressed with Her Majesty’s awesome sense of humor.
