POLL: Do you want Chris or Arie as the next Bachelor?

Producers casting for Season 19 of The Bachelor apparently have a very clear goal of what they don’t want for the next season: anyone like Juan Pablo, a source told Entertainment Weekly.

Reportedly, the show has found two guys who fit the bill: farmer Chris Soules, who seems like the shoo-in choice after his recent season with Andi Dorfman, or surprise curveball Arie Luyendyk, who was the runner-up on Emily Maynard’s season of The Bachelorette.

A casting decision is expected soon, though an announcement isn’t expected for a while. In the meantime, we’re putting these guys head-to-head and want to know which one you think would be the best leading man for Season 19 of The Bachelor.

Chris Soules

Age: 32

Height: 6 feet 1 inch

Occupation: Farmer

Hometown: Lamont, Iowa

Bachelor history: Chris appeared on the most recent Season 10 of The Bachelorette as one of Andi Dorfman’s men. She sent him home during their fantasy suite date because she didn’t see the relationship progressing to marriage.

INTERVIEW: Could host Chris Harrison be the next Bachelor? >>

Reputation: Chris is the all-American, small-town boy genuinely looking to find his leading lady, though he would prefer someone who could be a homemaker with him on his farm in Lamont.

What the Bachelorette has to say: Andi Dorfman seems to be throwing her full support at Chris’ quest for love. “I mean, look at him. Chris has the whole package,” Dorfman said. She continued, “He’s going to be a great husband and a great father.”

Casting rumors: During the After the Final Rose special of The Bachelorette this week, Chris Harrison discussed the next Bachelor and said they weren’t making the announcement just yet, but it would be soon. Harrison said all of his while strategically placing his hands on Soules’ shoulder. Hint, hint. Cough, cough.

Arie Luyendyk Jr.

Age: 32

Height: 6 feet 2 inches

Occupation: Race car driver

Hometown: Scottsdale, Arizona

Bachelor history: Arie appeared on Emily Maynard’s Season 8 of The Bachelorette and was the runner-up. Emily sent Arie home brokenhearted, and he has since been quoted saying that following the show his love life has been “cursed.”

Reputation: Luyendyk definitely seems ready to settle down, but he has more of a bad-boy reputation than Soules. In Bachelor alum Courtney Robertson’s recently released tell-all book, Robertson details her dating history with Luyendyk. She explained that while it was short-lived, he was dating other women while they were together and was quick to dismiss Robertson at the end of their relationship.

What the Bachelorette has to say: According to Hollywood Life,  Luyendyk and Maynard had some Twitter beef following the end of Maynard’s relationship with her Bachelorette beau Jef Holm. “You’re not the person everyone thinks you are,” Luyendyk tweeted to Maynard. The two have apparently moved on, however. Luyendyk told Radar Online he’s happy for Maynard, who recently tied the knot, and had nothing but kind words to say about the former Bachelorette.

Casting rumors: One of Luyendyk’s racing friends is apparently spilling all the dirt to Radar Online. “Producers have already filmed him at home in Arizona, and they even sent a personal trainer to get him in shape for TV. They think he’d be perfect,” the source said.
