Paulina Gretzky’s fiancé leaves PGA Tour because of cocaine use

Paulina Gretzky’s fiancé has once again failed a drug test. Dustin Johnson has begun a six-month leave of absence from the PGA Tour after testing positive for cocaine, according to Golf.com, and sadly this isn’t the first time the athlete has had trouble staying clean.

A source revealed the man who is engaged to marry Gretzky, daughter of hockey legend Wayne Gretzky, has failed three drug tests: one for marijuana, in 2009, and two for cocaine, in 2012 and 2014.

Johnson announced Thursday he’ll be taking a leave of absence from the sport immediately in order to focus on his troubles.

“I will use this time to seek professional help for personal challenges I have faced,” Johnson said in a statement sent out by his managers. “By committing the time and resources necessary to improve my mental health, physical well-being and emotional foundation, I am confident that I will be better equipped to fulfill my potential and become a consistent champion.”

As the golfer promises to seek help, a look at the couple’s official social accounts reveals that their love for one another looks to be going strong, although neither Johnson nor Gretzky have yet made mention of the drug-test drama on their Twitter or Instagram accounts.

Although it was initially reported that Johnson had been given a six-month suspension, PGA Tour officials are making it clear this player’s time off was his own choice.

A statement released to the press explains, “With regard to media reports that Dustin Johnson has been suspended by the PGA Tour, this is to clarify that Mr. Johnson has taken a voluntary leave of absence and is not under a suspension from the PGA Tour.”
