5 Times Chris Brown has said he’s sorry but acted otherwise

It’s no secret that Chris Brown is not exactly the most innocent celeb out there, but the singer seems to be saying goodbye to his unsavory ways and cleaning up his act.

The star took to Instagram on Aug. 2 to post a picture of himself sporting a bright orange prison jumpsuit, along with a heartfelt caption thanking his fans for their continued support and apologizing for his wrongdoings.

I’ve been through a lot in my life,” he wrote. “Made a lot of mistakes along the way. But through it all I’ve always been true to myself and through God I’ve been able to take care of my family! I should regret some things but I think the lessons learned will shape me into a real man. I’m grateful and appreciative! Thank you for life!”

The thing is, this is not the first time that Brown has claimed he’s sorry and then landed in hot water just a few months later. While we hope that this time he’s changing his ways for good, we’re a little skeptical that that’s the case, and here’s why:

1. Mistake No. 1

While Brown hasn’t found himself in the media again for domestic violence, he did make a very public apology, expressing how he was truly sorry for beating up his then-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. He also stated at the time that he would be seeking help and counseling from his pastor.

2. Mistake No. 2

The “Loyal” hit maker violated his probation by getting into a fight in Washington, D.C., last year. He faced a charge of misdemeanor assault for allegedly hitting the man who was trying to take a picture of him. Classy guy.

3. Mistake No. 3

Brown was kicked out of rehab in May for not adhering to his probation requirements. He was also caught in an “inappropriate relationship” with a female worker at the facility.

4. Mistake No. 4

The singer was fortunate enough to have his jail time reduced. So what does he do when he gets out? He heads straight back to the nightclubs for a night of booze-fueled partying, which really sent out the message that he’d learned this lesson.

5. Mistake No. 5

Brown had one person who constantly supported him throughout his ups and downs: girlfriend Karrueche Tran. However, the model allegedly dumped the R&B star last week because he cheated on her with one of her good friends, the Inquisitr reports.

Should Chris Brown be applauded and supported for finally admitting to his past mistakes? Or is it too little, too late?
