Susan Sarandon is counting her blessings today after her home was burglarized late Saturday night. Her belongings were stolen, but she and her 22-year-old son, Miles, are safe and sound.
The 67-year-old actress was out of town for the weekend, but her son was around until approximately 9 p.m. that night. He returned around 3:30 a.m. to discover that someone had entered the home.

Miles called the police after he noticed someone had been in the house while he was gone. The burglar apparently used a ladder to climb from the building next door and break into the Tammy star’s home. TMZ is reporting that the criminal entered through a terrace window or door.
The items missing include a laptop, jewelry and a camera. The home was a mess when Miles returned home after a night out.
The police noted that Sarandon did not have any security cameras on her roof. It will be tricky for the police to identify the criminal since there is currently no description of the perpetrator.

The total value of the items stolen has not been assessed yet since Sarandon is still out of town.
The New York Police Department told Us Weekly, “No arrests have been made yet but the case is under investigation. No one was home at the time of the crime.”
Sarandon is a native New Yorker who has always made her home in the big city. Don’t expect this event to scare her out of her Manhattan home. As she told Time Out New York recently, “New York is a big, beautiful, bad-ass town that constantly demands rediscovery. This is my hometown; I want people to love it as much as I do.”
