Paramore cancels tour dates due to exhaustion

Paramore spent the summer season on their joint Monumentour tour with Fall Out Boy, but it looks like the group will have to slow down a bit as lead singer Hayley Williams has canceled the group’s next few shows, citing exhaustion.

In a message posted on the band’s official website, Hayley begins by informing fans that she’s writing from her bunk because doctors have diagnosed her with a chest infection, forcing her to cancel shows in Texas on Aug. 4 and 5. Williams continued her message, sharing how sad she is because of her illness, writing, “Words in this tiny little message cannot begin to express my frustration, sadness, and overall loopiness (the latter is likely just from the cortisone and antibiotics…ugh.)”

Just because Paramore won’t be able to hit the stage that doesn’t mean that fans will lose out on the entire show. Fall Out Boy is expected to extend their set in the band’s absence. However, Paramore fans can rest assured that Williams will be getting the necessary rest she needs for the remainder of the show. “It is still on,” she added about the rest of the trek. “Doctor thinks I’ll be good to go in the next day and certainly before the next show.” Later that night, Williams went on to tweet that the Spice Girls were by her side as she begins her recovery.

Williams will surely need all the rest she can get as she and the band will head overseas for a couple of U.K. festival show dates later this month. They’ll then return to the States for even more shows with Fall Out Boy until Aug. 31.
