INTERVIEW: Candace Cameron Bure talks DWTS journey

SheKnows was fortunate enough to catch up with the lovely Candace Cameron Bure at the 2014 Teen Choice Awards to ask her some questions about her time on Dancing With the Stars.

“I had the time of my life doing Dancing With the Stars; it was incredible and to do something I have never done before, which is dancing in front a live audience. And then I had the support of my family and my daughter Natasha, who is my biggest cheerleader,” she said, adding, “and I was paired with Mark Ballas, who was writing for SheKnows and blogged through it, and he was the perfect partner for me. I love Mark.”

As mentioned, the Cameron Bure family were strong supporters of the Full House alum, so did the entire DWTS experience bring them closer together as a family?

“I was hardly at home, so in that sense not physically, but I felt their love and their encouragement and inspirations every single week. It was incredible,” Cameron Bure said.

We think the fans really loved that the actress stayed true to herself throughout the show, and she agrees.

“I was true to myself, and I am who I am,” the beauty confessed. “I’m never afraid to share it, and some people appreciate that, and that was the majority of the fans’ reaction and comments. Every once in a while, people wanted me to shut up about my faith, but I’m like, ‘It is who I am.'”

Cameron Bure’s teenage years were different from those of her children’s, so what advice does she have to give to her daughter Natasha (who accompanied her to the Teen Choice Awards) during this social media age?
