Kings of Leon is taking an unexpected two-week absence from their Mechanical Bull Tour after their bus was involved in an accident on Saturday night. The group wrote about the news of the postponed tour and their injured drummer on their Facebook page.
The “Supersoaker” singers said, “Due to an accident on their tour bus, Kings of Leon will unfortunately have to postpone tonight’s show in Saratoga Springs, NY. The band was en route to their hotel after their show in Boston when a pedestrian jumped in front of their tour bus, causing the bus to stop short, injuring Nathan Followill.”

The good news is that “Nathan is being treated for broken ribs, but is doing well.”
They originally postponed only their Sunday show in Saratoga Springs, New York, but that changed after the musician’s doctor gave him strict orders to rest up.
On Monday, the Kings of Leon released an updated statement. The group shared, “Nathan is on strict doctor’s orders to rest to give himself adequate time to recover before the band can pick back up on their much buzzed-about Mechanical Bull Tour.”
Even his personal physician, Dr. Faiz Bhora, Chief of Thoracic Surgery at Mount Sinai Roosevelt Hospital, weighed in. “The process is now to rest in order for healing to take place. To avoid complications and to make a full recovery, a break from performing to Aug. 28 is necessary.”

The group will honor their appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday night, though. Questlove, the show’s bandleader, will substitute for Followill.
The drummer tweeted a message of thanks along with a photo from his hospital bed. Here’s wishing a speedy recovery to the musician.
