Emma Stone might be headed to Broadway

Michelle Williams made her Broadway debut this year in the revival of Cabaret. It looks like The Amazing Spider-Man star, Emma Stone, might be following in her footsteps.

According to the New York Times, a spokesperson for the show confirmed that Stone is in talks to take over the role when Williams leaves the show. Her last show is currently scheduled to fall on Nov. 9.

This isn’t the first time The Help actress’s name has been bandied about for the role. In May 2013, it was revealed that Stone had pulled out of the revival opposite Alan Cumming due to a scheduling conflict with a film she had to shoot.

At the time, a Roundabout Theatre Company spokesperson told the New York Times, “Roundabout is in the casting phase and exploring if the production can come together with the most ideal cast.”

It was Williams who stepped into the role of Sally Bowles instead of Stone. With her upcoming exit from the production, it’s only fitting that the ginger-haired star replace the My Week With Marilyn actress.

Stone is not a rookie when it comes to theater, but it has been a while since she hit the stage. She was an active participant at the Valley Youth Theater while growing up in Phoenix, Arizona.

If Stone does step into the role, it would be for a limited time only. Cabaret is only scheduled to run at the Kit Kat Klub at Studio 54 through Jan. 4, 2015, along with the rest of the contracted cast, including Cumming as the M.C., Linda Emond as Fraulein Schneider and Danny Burstein as Herr Schultz.
