With less than two weeks to go until the 2014 Video Music Awards, MTV is still pulling out all the stops and adding some big names to its huge performance roster. On Wednesday, Aug. 17, Nicki Minaj was the latest artist announced to take the iconic stage in Los Angeles.

Minaj, who made headlines earlier this month for some pretty racy single artwork, is set to grace the stage on Sunday, Aug. 24, for the first live performance of her new single, “Anaconda.” This will mark her very first performance as a solo act, too. Back in 2010, the “Young Money” honey performed at the pre-show with will.i.am and, then in 2012, with Alicia Keys for her “Girl on Fire” guest verse. But even though she’s confirmed to perform her own solo material, it would seem convenient to take the stage more than once, considering the other performers of the evening. Could you imagine a live rendition of her new collabos with Usher (“She Came To Give It To You”) or Beyoncé (for their much talked-about “Flawless” remix)?

Hours after the announcement, Usher sent Minaj a message on Twitter, reciprocating some nice words that the rapper said about working with the singer on his latest single. With all the spreading compliments, it sounds like these two might have a few tricks up their sleeves. In addition to Usher, Minaj and Bey, Five Seconds of Summer, Maroon 5 and Ariana Grande are also expected to hit the stage for performances.
