Calvin Harris participated in the ALS Ice Bucket Challenge to help raise awareness for Lou Gehrig’s disease on Monday, Aug. 18, but the EDM producer also raised my own personal awareness of my gym membership.
Bill Gates still reigns as nerd king with Ice Bucket Challenge >>
In a short 15-second video, which was posted on his Instagram, Harris stands outside of a building with his ice bucket in front of him and performs the most dramatic execution of the trend so far. Pensive stare? Check. Moment of prayer? Check. Ripped abs? Check. Now, just press the play button below and you can thank me later.
Harris is the latest star to further the cause and participate in the #ALSIceBucketChallenge. At time of press, Harris’ video had logged more than 68,800 likes and we can only expect that to increase as the hours roll on. Among the other celebrities getting wet for a good cause are Justin Timberlake, Questlove, Chris Brown, Gwen Stefani and many more.

Calvin Harris axed Rita Ora’s Teen Choice performance >>
Even though it’s early in the week, Harris is already generating much more positive publicity than last week, when his ex-flame, Rita Ora, went public with the news that the DJ prohibited her from performing their collaboration, “I Will Never Let You Down,” at the Teen Choice Awards. In an interview with Ryan Seacrest, the singer said, “For anybody who doesn’t understand how it works, he wrote and produced the song… so he has to approve anything TV-wise for anybody who doesn’t get it.” Harris didn’t take her words so lightly and retaliated on Twitter, telling fans that there’s more than just one side to that story.
