Ellen DeGeneres and her wife, Portia de Rossi, are still going strong and they have the skywriting to prove it.

The couple recently celebrated six years of marriage and de Rossi took the opportunity to surprise her partner in life. DeGeneres tweeted a cute picture of the two together with the word “six” written in the sky above them. “Look what my wife did for our wedding anniversary,” she wrote. “Six!”

De Rossi and DeGeneres have recently been fending off rumors that their marriage is on the rocks. Celebrity reporter Randy Jernigan is releasing a tell-all book that details the alleged strife and blames de Rossi’s self-esteem issues for the couple’s problems. “Many fans don’t know that Ellen and Portia have had a very tumultuous relationship since the beginning,” Jernigan told Radar Online in July. “She [de Rossi] loves attention because she’s secretly so insecure. She also hates that her career is in the dumps.” Jernigan, who claims he interviewed 13 people who are either close friends or associates of the couple, also added, “They both care for each other very much, but neither is good at the whole give-and-take aspect of a relationship.”

Star magazine also reported in December of 2013 that the couple was heading for a split and DeGeneres addressed the rumors on her daytime talk show. “There’s not one ounce of truth to any of it,” she said. “I’m very happily married. In fact, the only thing we argue about is who loves who more. And we argue if we’d let a kangaroo carry us around in its pouch for a year,” she joked. “I know they have to fill a magazine every issue, every week, but I don’t know how they can print lies like that.”

De Rossi and DeGeneres wed in August 2008, just three months after gay marriage was legalized in California, and looking at their anniversary picture, it seems safe to assume they are still going strong.
