Marie Claire celebrates 20 women who are changing the world

The 20th anniversary issue of Marie Claire hits stands today and the magazine is celebrating by featuring a 16-page spread of 20 women who are changing the world.

The list includes notable actors, activists, musicians, politicians, business leaders and fashion moguls who “are 20 of the movers, shakers, mavericks, and badasses who are boldly, bravely, audaciously blazing new paths for women and girls,” according to the magazine.

“We couldn’t have found a more dynamic, diverse group of power women and I am beyond proud of the portfolio,” said Anne Fulenwider, Marie Claire‘s editor in chief.

Here are the women who made the cut, alphabetically listed, including the changes they affected according to Marie Claire.

1. Kimberly Bryant, founder of Black Girls Code, for leveling the digital playing field.

2. Barbara Bush, cofounder and CEO of Global Health Corps, for making health care personal, not political.

3. Chelsea Clinton, vice chair of The Clinton Foundation, for shattering ceilings.

4. Jennifer Garner, board member of Save the Children, for remembering those others forgot.

5. Melinda Gates, cochair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, for never forgetting the women behind the numbers.

6. Frida Giannini, cofounder of Chime for Change, for making change fashionable.

7. Gabrielle Giffords, cofounder of Americans for Responsible Solutions, for turning tragedy into action.

8. Dina Habib Powell, president of Goldman Sachs Foundation, for investing in women’s potential.

9. Jennifer Hudson, cofounder of The Julian D. King Gift Foundation, for finding hope in loss.

10. Alicia Keys, cofounder of Keep a Child Alive, for standing up to an epidemic.

11. Rachel Lloyd, founder and CEO of Girls Educational and Mentoring Services, for bringing victims into the light.

12.Eva Longoria, founder of the Eva Longoria Foundation and cofounder of Eva’s Heroes, for empowering the Latina community.

13. Nancy Lublin, CEO of Do Something, for doing good, again and again.

14. Cecile Richards, president of the Planned Parenthood Federation of American and Planned Parenthood Action Fund, for always having our backs.

15. Stephanie Schriock, president of Emily’s List, for transforming women into contenders.
