Michelle Duggar is fighting against transgender rights

Michelle Duggar has a new mission and it involves (what she believes is) keeping the children of Arkansas safe.

There is a proposed law in Fayetteville, Arkansas, “that will protect citizens against discrimination in employment, housing, and public accommodations on the basis of their sexual orientation, gender identity, socioeconomic background, marital status, or veteran status,” according to ThinkProgress.org. Duggar is doing what she can to make sure the law doesn’t pass.

According to TMZ, the mother from 19 Kids and Counting said she believes male child predators are going to use the law to dress up as women to go into women’s restrooms.

Duggar (who has struggled with her own identity problems in the past) has recorded a robocall for the voters of Fayetteville to vote no on the proposition.

“Hello, this is Michelle Duggar, I am calling to inform you of some shocking news,” Duggar said on the robocall obtained by TMZ, adding that the city council would be “voting on an ordinance that would allow men — yes, I said men — to use women’s and girls’ restrooms, locker rooms, showers, sleeping areas and other areas that are designated for females only.”

She added that she doesn’t believe citizens of Fayetteville “would want males with past child predator convictions that claim they are female to have a legal right to enter private areas reserved for women and girls.”

The call was reportedly paid for by FreeFayetteville, which is the name being used by the Arkansas Family Council (AFC) for the campaign. Duggar’s oldest son, Josh Duggar, works as the executive director for FRC Action, the legislative affiliate of the Family Research Council (FRC). The AFC is also an affiliate of the FRC.

“I doubt that… parents would stand for a law that would endanger their daughters or allow them to be traumatized by a man joining them in their private space,” she added. “We should never place the preference of an adult over the safety and innocence of a child.

“Parents, who do you want undressing next to your daughter at the pool’s private changing area?”

The city council will be voting on the proposed law this week.
