Beyoncé and Jay Z at the VMAs: Was it real or staged?

Beyoncé and Jay Z took to the MTV Video Music Awards stage to shut down rumors that their marriage is on the rocks.

Those rumors have been chasing the power couple for months, saying that Bey and Jay are well on their way to splitsville. But during the VMAs, they were not-so-subtle in putting the rumors to rest.

Jay Z and the couple’s daughter, Blue Ivy, watched as Beyoncé performed songs from her latest album. Then they joined her on stage to present her with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard Award. Beyoncé cried as she accepted the award from her family, and then she and Jay Z shared a smooch in front of the audience, the cameras and all the haters who have been talking about an end to their marital bliss.

“I have nothing to say, but I’m filled with so much gratitude,” Beyoncé said. “I thank God for this moment. I love y’all so much. Blue Blue, I love you. My beloved, I love you. My fans, I love you. MTV, I love you. Good night.”

The moment that moved Bey to tears, when hubby Jay Z called her the “greatest living entertainer,” it couldn’t help but feel a little too perfect — almost rehearsed?

Regardless, the moment was so cute, it’s bound to leave at least some of the nay-sayers biting their tongues for a while about the state of the Bey/Jay marriage.
