This is one relationship rumor that we were really hoping was true, but unfortunately the pair is just good friends.
“He’s just one of my best friends,” the Masters of Sex star revealed of newly single Marsden to People at Showtime’s Emmy Eve Soiree on Sunday. “He’s one of my dearest friends.”

But then again, the Save the Date actress wouldn’t give anything away when it comes to her personal life anyway.
“I wouldn’t tell you anyway!” she said to the mag.
So Caplan may not have been enjoying Marsden as her date (and serious arm candy) for the forthcoming Emmy Awards, but she plans to hang out with her friends on her big night anyway. She is nominated for the first time for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series for her role as sexologist Virginia Johnson in Masters of Sex.

“I have a lot of friends coming to hang out. There will be food. And they will be drinking. I will probably get slightly annoyed and looking for a moment of quiet and solitude, which I will not get,” she joked. “And in the car ride there, I will be very happy that all the people showed up to hang with me. It’s awesome. The fact my friends want to come hang is really nice.”
Congratulations to Caplan on her Emmy Nomination — we can’t wait to see if she takes home the gold later tonight.
