One of last night’s sweetest acceptance speeches was from Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series winner Aaron Paul. He not only thanked his cast and crew from Breaking Bad, he also mentioned his wife, Lauren Parsekian.
He said, “And to my wife, my god, thank you for marrying me. Thank you for dedicating your life to spread kindness across the world. We all appreciate it. If you guys don’t know what she does, look up ‘Kind Campaign.’ Do yourself and your children a favor. Kind Campaign.”

That message sent thousands of people scurrying to the internet to check out the charity, which eventually crashed the website on Emmys night.
Their mission statement at Kind Campaign is simple. The website states, “Kind Campaign is an internationally recognized movement, documentary and school program based upon the powerful belief in KINDness that brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl ‘crime.'”
Parsekian and her Pepperdine University classmate Molly Thompson started the movement in February 2009 after being victims of female bullying. Together, they created the documentary Finding Kind to expose the issue of girl-on-girl violence.
Paul’s wife told the News-Press in 2009 how her own experiences in middle school were dangerous to her physical and mental health.

She said, “I was tortured. I became scared to go to school, for the fear of what new tortuous experience they would put me through. My grades started to drop, I was scared to answer the phone, and finding places to hide on campus became a daily routine. Through this time I battled depression and thought about suicide frequently. I remember feeling worthless, ugly, stupid, and more than anything else, I felt like my world was over.”
The Emmy winner has been tremendously supportive of his wife’s endeavors. In 2013, he helped raised $1.8 million with a Breaking Bad finale fundraiser.
Parsekian continues to spread the word about the charity on social media and by visiting schools… and through her husband’s award show acceptance speeches.
