But Styles took his love of football and made a statement with it at a recent concert. The St. Louis Rams recently drafted the first openly gay NFL player, Michael Sam, making football history. According to MTV, as One Direction took the stage in St. Louis, Styles came out in a Sam jersey.
Styles isn’t alone in his fashion choices or his support for the Rams. Sam’s jersey is the top-selling jersey among all other rookies this year — and you can guarantee that plenty of One Directioners will be buying it from here on out.
Sam showed his thanks for the honor from Styles in a tweet on Wednesday.
@Harry_Styles thank you for your support!!! #RamNation

Styles has shown his support for the LGBT community in the past, and his new fashion statement may be making a whole new statement. Back in February, he recorded a video for the London Lesbian & Gay Switchboard, wishing them a happy 40th birthday.

The year before, Styles made another statement by commenting on a Westboro Baptist Church protest at one of his shows.
