Chris Brown has pleaded guilty to assaulting a man outside the W hotel in Washington, D.C., last October.
The notorious singer admitted to punching a man in the face when he tried to get into a photo that Brown was taking with two women as he left the hotel, People magazine reported. The hip-hop star apparently spent two days in a D.C. jail in connection to the case as part of his punishment.

“As Chris Brown himself has now finally acknowledged, he punched a man in the face without provocation in the District of Columbia,” U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Ronald Machen said in a statement. “No matter your status or celebrity, you will be held accountable for such conduct in our city.”
The incident happened during the time that Brown was on probation for his infamous assault case for attacking ex-girlfriend Rihanna in 2009. Because of Brown’s arrest in the D.C. punching incident, a California judge revoked his probation and ordered the singer to serve an additional 131 days in jail.
Brown was released in June and with his new guilty plea he will be able to move on from the incident and get back to his career, his lawyer claimed.
“We are pleased with the outcome of today’s court proceedings,” Brown’s attorney, Danny Onorato said. “Mr. Brown’s guilty plea finally puts to rest a case that has been pending for almost a year. Today’s result will allow Mr. Brown to focus his attention back on his music and his career.”
During the court proceedings, Brown only spoke briefly and said, “I would like to say to the court that I’m sorry.”
While Brown has already served additional jail time and attended inpatient counseling in relation to the incident, the man he punched, Parker Adams, has filed a $1.5 million lawsuit against Brown and his bodyguard Christopher Hollosy, who was also involved in the scuffle.
