With the rise of the Islamic State in Iraq and Syria, U.S. citizens are calling for drastic actions in the Middle East. One reality star has a simple solution.
Duck Dynasty patriarch Phil Robertson offered up his solution on Fox News‘ Hannity on Tuesday night during an appearance to promote his new book, UnPHILtered.

He shared, “In this case, you either have to convert them, which I think would be next to impossible. I’m not giving up on them, but I’m just saying either convert them or kill them. One or the other.”
Robertson even said the radical group compares to “street gangs, street thugs on steroids” and that “we’re going to have to deal with this group way more harshly than we have up to this point.”
Even though his views sound harsh, the A&E star always picks religion first.

“I’d much rather have a Bible study with all of them and show them the error of their ways and point them to Jesus Christ,” Robertson said. “However, if it’s a gunfight and a gunfight alone, if that’s what they’re looking for, me personally, I am prepared for either one.”
ISIS’ reign of terror has included mandatory conversions of the citizens of non-Islamic towns. Those who refuse to obey are killed. Women are often forced to leave their husbands and marry the militants.
Robertson has been known to get in hot water for his religious views on marriage equality and homosexuality, so it will be interesting to see how many protest his views on ISIS.
