Evan Ross and Ashlee Simpson tied the knot over the weekend, and the happy couple are not the only ones who thought their lavish Greenwich, Connecticut, nuptials were perfect. The groom’s momma agrees.
Songstress Diana Ross is thrilled her son has found love with the “La La” hit maker, and she had a big part to play in the wedding to ensure it was flawless. Not only was the ceremony held at her home, but the The Supremes singer also officiated the wedding and performed her classic 1981 ballad “Endless Love” at the couple’s reception.

“The wedding went perfectly,” the singer revealed to Us Weekly. “We had a beautiful rainbow surrounding us, loving family and friends, great music, and great speeches from loving and caring friends, and joyful children dancing the night away.”

“I thank everyone who supported us on the spectacular day and our neighbors who were kind enough to let us have fun. We had great friends that traveled from Norway, London, Switzerland, and from all over the world. Wishing Evan and Ashlee congratulations,” she told the mag. “I want only love, happiness, and joy for my son and his bride.”
Aww! Well, it looks like Simpson may have won over her mom-in-law. It was previously revealed that Simpson was super nervous and intimidated to initially meet her The Hunger Games actor husband’s iconic mom, but luckily for her, Ross was very open and welcoming from the start.
