Orlando Bloom says he and Erica Packer are only pals

Orlando Bloom may have sparked romance rumors with Erica Packer with their “odd” relationship, but the actor assures they are just friends.

After Bloom and Packer were spotted hanging out together and taking beach walks in Ibiza, Spain, the word was that the two were an item. However, The Hobbit star told Australia’s Daily Telegraph that he’s known James Packer’s ex for years and they are just very good pals.

“I’ve known Erica before she was married to James, when she was married to James and afterwards, and we are all mates,” Bloom told the publication. “It probably looks odd, but we are all mates. We have known each other for a long time.”

Then, when asked directly if there was anything else going on with Packer, the actor laughed and replied, “No. I’ve known Erica for a long time. We are great mates. She’s a great girl.”

Bloom also revealed that he often visits his ex Miranda Kerr and her relatives in Australia, because he still considers all of them family.

“I’m going to see the family and catch up with the rellies and I want to catch up with some of my mates. I just love being there,” Bloom went on. “The Kerrs are family. I’ve spent so much time there. And with Miranda and Flynn and the family and stuff I’ve been coming and going for many years. I love it there.”

Meanwhile, Kerr herself has denied additional rumors that she was dating James, but she reiterated that they are only friends too and she is still single.

“The public want to put me with someone,” she told U.K.’s Sunday Times Style. “I know the truth, I am single, and the people that are important to me know the truth, and that is all.”
