How Emily Ratajkowski went from a Robin Thicke video to the biggest movie of the year

What a difference a year makes. Emily Ratajkowski first came into our lives as the model on Robin Thicke’s controversial “Blurred Lines” video and now she is a bona fide movie star.

Intense public scrutiny prepped Ben Affleck for Gone Girl >>

Ratajkowski will next be seen in Gone Girl, along with Ben Affleck, and she admits that she still has a lot to learn about acting. She told People that Affleck and Gone Girl director, David Fincher, are “really knowledgeable teachers.”

The film is one of the most anticipated of the year — it is based on the best-selling book of the same name about a man’s life after his wife disappears. Ratajkowski plays Affleck’s mistress in the film and said she was ready for the role.

“I thought they wouldn’t have cast somebody that they didn’t have a little faith in, so that gave me the extra boost of confidence,” she said.

And although Ratajkowski’s rise from a music video to a huge movie may seem like a weird path, they may have a lot in common. Apparently, Ben Affleck saw the actress in the Robin Thicke video and suggested she audition for the role.

Affleck and Fincher’s adaptation for the film is yet to be seen, but Ratajkowski revealed that “people who have read the book will be very happy with the movie.”

Gone Girl isn’t the last you will hear from Ratajkowski. She is now busy filming her next project — We Are Your Friends, alongside Zac Efron.

Gone Girl will be out in theaters on Oct. 3.
