Nicki Minaj is putting CBS on some serious social media blast over — what else? — her booty.

The “Anaconda” rapper performed at Tuesday’s Fashion Rocks special and CBS cut away during a large portion of her very hiney-heavy choreography.
“My darlingz, I wish you could’ve seen the choreography on the 2nd verse of ‘Anaconda’ last night. It was absolutely divine. CBS decided not to show it,” Minaj wrote on her Instagram under a photo from the show Wednesday.

The two-hour program featured performances from Usher, Jennifer Hudson, JLo, Duran Duran and Afrojack. The annual fashion-meets-music charity event is televised each year from New York Fashion Week.

Minaj performed her super booty-licious single, “Anaconda,” but viewers at home didn’t get to see nearly as much as the live audience did.
During the live broadcast, camera crews chose to cut away and show audience reactions, rather than one of the steamiest parts of Minaj’s choreography. The routine wasn’t too different from what Minaj performed at the MTV Video Music Awards, but for cable audiences, it was apparently deemed inappropriate.
Minaj also said in her post that she happily would have altered the routine to meet CBS’ standards had she been given the heads up that her dance wouldn’t be shown to at-home viewers.
“Had they told us this before, we would have changed the choreo so that you guys could see the full performance from beginning to end,” she wrote. “Artists spend so much of their own money, time and passion to deliver their fans great performances. But ultimately, our art usually falls into the hands of people who care nothing about our art and creativity. Promise you’ll get to see this new choreo soon.”
CBS didn’t cut out the full routine, though. A sultry chair dance was aired and the other parts of the choreography, which was full of booty poppin’ and droppin’, were shown to viewers.
Let this be a warning to any would-be Nicki Minaj “Anaconda” copycats >>
What do you think? Is Minaj’s criticism fair? Or did CBS make the right call cutting out part of the dance?
