Real Housewives of New Jersey stars unload more baggage before possible prison term

Things are getting serious for The Real Housewives of New Jersey stars, Joe and Teresa Giudice. The couple is so concerned about their financial health, they are unloading lots of excess baggage.

They have already listed their six-bedroom, six-bath New Jersey mansion, which is featured on the Bravo TV show, for $3.999 million. They have also put their Jersey Shore house on the market. Fans will remember this house because it was heavily damaged during Hurricane Sandy two years ago. The aftermath of the storm became a big part of the story line.

Their legal crisis manager, Wendy Feldman, talked to E! News about the Giudices’ upcoming sentencing date on Oct. 2.

She said, “They’re nervous, as any couple going through a sentencing would be. And they’re doing this while trying to maintain Teresa’s career. It’s a really, really unique case. Never before have a husband and wife been up for sentencing while on a live TV show. Right now, there’s a ton of work going on behind the scenes.”

Their fraud case has been heavily covered by the RHONJ reality show and it is clear the stress has taken a toll on the couple and their four young daughters. The family has stayed huddled together while trying to protect their kids from all of the publicity.

A source told the entertainment site that the home sales are actually good for the Giudices.

The insider shared, “It’s time for a change. They feel it will be a positive one. They want to move into a space that’s less about entertaining and more about family.”

After pleading guilty to the fraud charges in March, Joe faces 37 to 46 months in jail, while Teresa faces a sentencing of 21 to 27 months. The matriarch of the family is hoping for probation only so she can take care of the children while Joe is in prison.
