John Travolta finally opens up (kinda) about gay sex scandal

We’re not sure why John Travolta‘s sexual orientation is such a big deal, but the news of his alleged past lovers always appears to make the headlines, and now for the first time the actor is addressing the rumors.

Earlier this year, Travolta’s former employee, Douglas Gotterba, made the allegation that he had been involved in a sexual relationship with the actor when he was working for him at his aviation company. Gotterba threatened to spill all the details about his affair with the actor and Travolta’s legal team then threatened action.

During a recent interview with the Daily Beast to promote his new movie The Forger, the actor was asked about Gotterba’s allegations, to which he responded, “This is every celebrity’s Achilles heel. It’s just about people wanting money. That’s all. It happens on many levels.”

Over the years, the Pulp Fiction actor has been the subject of many rumors, but he has learned that his fame will always make him a target for someone, and so he tries not to get too upset about it.

“Also, I don’t care that much about it. Other people may attack it back more than I do, but I let all the media stuff go a long time ago because I can’t control it. I think that’s why it persists, to some degree,” he explained.

But Travolta did find the allegations offensive when he was trying to deal with the loss of his son and there were sordid headlines about him spread all over the papers.

“I found it most offensive with the loss of my son. I felt like that was the lowest I’d ever felt. Sex stuff is always going to be interesting to somebody, but you stay away from family,” he explained to the publication. “You really should. With that, I always felt like the media — not all of the media, but parts of it — went too low there.”
