Melissa Rivers is speaking out for the first time since Joan Rivers‘ funeral.
The Fashion Police producer said she is grateful for all the support over the past few weeks. On Wednesday, Rivers posted a comment online on her WhoSay page, thanking fans for their love.

“As my son Cooper and I mourn the loss of my mother, we want to thank everyone for the beautiful cards and flowers conveying the heartfelt messages and condolences, which continue to arrive from around the world and through social media. My mother would have been overwhelmed by the scope and depth of the love that people have expressed for her. It is certainly helping to lift our spirits during this time.
“We are forever grateful for your kindness and support in continuing to honor my mother’s legacy, and for remembering the joy and laughter that she brought to so many.”

Joan Rivers was laid to rest on Sunday, Sept. 7 in New York City. The star-studded funeral was full of family and friends, as Joan would have wanted. Howard Stern talked about the late host and Broadway star, Audra McDonald, performed the song, “Smile,” according to The Daily Beast.
Melissa also said some words, including a few jokes about living with her mother, who was known for loudly speaking whatever was on her mind. Melissa said she was “grateful for every minute Cooper and I have with you.”

Joan Rivers was 81 when she died after going into cardiac arrest following an unplanned biopsy on her vocal cords on Aug. 28. Rivers was put into an induced coma and died almost a week later on Sept. 4. The death is currently under investigation.
