Can you believe it’s been 20 years since the first episode of Friends aired? In a tribute to our beloved Central Perk buddies, we’ve put together a compilation of GIFs celebrating some of the show’s most iconic moments.

3. Ross proves he’s Rachel’s lobster

First of all, the earlier scene in which Phoebe explains how lobsters mate for life and pantomimes an old lobster couple holding hands is hilarious. This follow-up scene tugs at the heartstrings, though. When Rachel realizes Ross has loved her since they were teenagers, she is overcome with emotion (and, apparently, desire).
4. Monica maps out a woman’s erogenous zones for Chandler

Poor Chandler. Prior to landing Monica, he was never what you might call a ladies’ man. And enlisting help from Monica to map out the female erogenous zones couldn’t have been easy on his pride, but we’re willing to wager it came in handy when he and Monica started shacking up.

5. The ol’ sofa shuffle

“Pivot! Pivot! Pivot!” GIFs should have sound so the full annoyance factor of Ross’ voice as they’re trying to move a bulky couch up a stairwell is clear. And, you know, the hilarious moment Chandler snaps.
6. Monica’s turkey dance makes Chandler fess up

If declaring your feelings from someone while they’re dancing around with a turkey on their head isn’t love, we just don’t know what is. Sweetest scene ever, once we get past our preoccupation with how it must smell in that turkey.
7. Joey exacts revenge by putting on all of Chandler’s clothes

Chandler swipes Joey’s underwear, prompting Joey to vow he would do the exact opposite to get back at Chandler. Hence, Joey parading around in all of Chandler’s clothes — sans briefs, no less. Gets us every time.

Nary a soul alive today is unfamiliar with Smelly Cat. Who knew when Phoebe first strummed her guitar in ode to an odoriferous feline that said stinky cat would become a cultural icon?
9. Ross unknowingly reveals a huge secret

Wait for it, wait for it… OH MY GOD! Ross! Ross is Rachel’s baby daddy. What the what? The moment when Ross reclaims his red sweater — inadvertently alerting us all to the fact that he’d knocked up Rach — will live in Friends infamy forever.
10. “Baby Got Back” soothes baby Emma

What is it about inappropriate parenting that we find so pleasing? Meh, who cares. It’s frickin’ hilarious. There’s no telling how many parents in the wake of this Ross and Rachel “Baby Got Back” bit relied on Sir Mix-a-Lot to amuse their own “beautiful little weirdos.” We know we did do.
