A reporter from Alaska quit on the air while giving a report on medical marijuana after revealing her pot business.
Charlo Greene, a KTVA Anchorage reporter, was on-camera reporting on a story about the Alaska Cannabis Club when she made a shocking revelation and quit her job on the spot. Walking off the set in the middle of the news, Greene said she was the actual medical marijuana business owner, and she was quitting to dedicate herself to it.

“Now everything you’ve heard is why,” Greene said, “I, the actual owner of the Alaska Cannabis Club, will be dedicating all of my energy toward fighting freedom and fairness, which begins with legalizing marijuana here in Alaska.”
Not only did she say she was leaving her reporter gig to run the business, but she quit in rather an unexpected and rude way that took viewers and her colleagues by total surprise. “And as for this job, well, not that I have a choice but, f***k it, I quit.”

Right after Greene took a walk off the set, cameras turned to the weekend anchor Alexis Fernandez, who was at an understandable loss of words. Looking stunned, Fernandez sputtered out an apology and said, “We’ll be right back.”
But apparently, it wasn’t time to go to commercial yet, so the astounded anchor had to fumble for a few more words before going for the break.
KTVA has since apologized to viewers for Greene’s on-air language and said that “the employee has been terminated.”

Meanwhile, the ousted reporter spoke up in her defense, saying that she wanted to let people know about medical marijuana.
“I wanted to draw attention to this issue. And the issue is medical marijuana,” Greene said. “Ballot Measure 2 is a way to make medical marijuana real… most patients didn’t know the state didn’t set up the framework to get patients their medicine.”
Greene also apologized for her offensive language on the broadcast, but added she wasn’t sorry for the choice she made.
