Sorrentino has been faced with a string of legal woes in recent months and now he’s just landed himself in serious trouble for tax evasion in New Jersey. He apparently owes taxes on nearly $9 million earned, according to Us Weekly.

The Jersey Shore alum and his brother and manager Marc have been named in a seven-count indictment, which was released on Wednesday, Sept. 24, and it’s not looking pretty.

The brothers failed to pay federal income tax on income that the former Dancing With the Stars contestant made during 2010 and 2012, which was earned through “promotional activities.”

“According to the indictment, Michael and Marc Sorrentino filed false tax returns that incorrectly reported millions made from promotions and appearances,” U.S. Attorney Paul J. Fishman told the publication in a statement. “The brothers allegedly also claimed costly clothes and cars as business expenses and funneled company money into personal accounts. The law is absolutely clear: telling the truth to the IRS is not optional.”

Sorrentino and his brother appeared in a New Jersey court and pleaded not guilty to all counts. Bail for each was set at $250,000, E! News reports.

Earlier this year, Sorrentino made headlines for getting arrested in his own tanning salon after he got into an altercation with his older brother Frank. In July, The Situation was also slapped with 12 weeks of anger management classes.
