Famous buddies, Brad Pitt and George Clooney, have now both tied the knot with their respective ladies.
The Brad Pitt vs. George Clooney weddings
Strangely, neither star was present at the other’s wedding — both had prior commitments that stood in the way. But it sounds like their friendship is still going strong, especially after Pitt, who is featured on the cover of the November issue of British GQ, opened up in an interview with the magazine about his and Clooney’s differences and his own thoughts on marriage.
“George is extremely accessible,” Pitt told GQ. “He’s one of our best representatives. He’s funny as s***. He’s a joy to be around.”
Pitt then continued, joking, “I guess maybe I’m more of a miserable bastard,” before continuing on about his upbringing in Missouri, “I’m a bit of a loner you know? I’m more quiet by nature. And coming from, you know, hillbilly country, I’m probably more reserved.”
And Pitt, who married Angelina Jolie earlier this year, has some serious things to say about marriage in light of Clooney’s wedding — a lavish, weekend-long affair in Venice where the Oscar-winner tied the knot with British human rights lawyer, Amal Alamuddin.
Angelina Jolie honored her mom at her wedding
“I wouldn’t say [marriage is] just a title,” Pitt told GQ. “There’s more to it than that.”
Pitt and Jolie were together nine years before finally marrying in a very small, private ceremony with only family and close friends present. Their children played an extremely active role in the ceremony, even helping decorate their mom’s dress. Pitt says that, just like at his wedding, family is becoming a greater priority in every aspect of his life.
“I’ve been slowing down for a while now,” he admits. “And slowly transitioning to other things. And, truthfully, I do want to spend more time with my kids before they’re grown up and gone.”
