Chris Brown might be trying hard to stay out of trouble at the moment, but his mother is seriously worried about him because of his reported gang ties.

The “Turn Up the Music” hit maker has gang affiliations, and apparently his mother, Joyce Hawkins, and his girlfriend, Karrueche Tran, are so worried about his safety that they have secretly contacted his therapist for help, TMZ reports.
Given the company Brown keeps and the recent shoot-up at his pre-VMAs party, it’s not surprising his family would be worried that his seedy connections may get him killed.
According to the site, the police have already gotten involved. LAPD officers are reportedly going to Los Angeles, California, clubs to try and persuade bar owners to ban Brown and his entourage from entering to avoid the violence that is sure to follow.

So, why is the singer so keen on having gang ties? According to TMZ, his family doesn’t think he understands the implications of associating himself with the Bloods, and they think he’s just doing it because he thinks it’s “cool.”
However, Brown revealed to MTV News that he has no ties to gangs; he just meets everyone in his line of work.

“When you’re in L.A. and you’re around people, you meet everybody — you meet Crips, you meet Bloods, especially in this industry that I’m in,” he told MTV News during a sit-down earlier this month. “I’m not in the country world, I’m not in the all-the-way pop world. [When] you’re in hip-hop, all of that meshes.”
He added that he’s “cordial” with gang members.
