Anne Hathaway‘s career may have started with her starring in chick flicks, but she has definitely proved over the years that she is a force to be reckoned with. But while Hathaway is a hugely talented and successful actress, it took her a very long time to get used to fame.
James Franco talks hating on Hathaway: “It’s just kind of fun”
During a recent interview in the Elle U.K. November issue, the cover girl said, “This fame thing? F***ed me up for a really long time. I didn’t know how to do it; I didn’t know how to engage with it; it stressed me out. And people would say, ‘You just have to be yourself,’ and I was like, ‘But I don’t know who that is yet!'”

However, Hathaway now realizes that she doesn’t need validation from anyone and she appears to be gaining confidence in leaps and bounds.
“I’ve realized that don’t need validation from anybody. At all,” Hathaway confessed to the mag. “I’m not sitting here now worrying, ‘What do you think of me?’ With all due respect, you seem like a lovely lady, but I don’t need you, or anyone else, to like me. And that’s so liberating. It’s a big reveal, man.”
Anne Hathaway is a mommy to a brand-new puppy
Whether she wants praise or not, it looks as though the actress is all set for critical acclaim for her role in the highly anticipated new sci-fi film directed by Christopher Nolan, Interstellar.
“The man speaks in poetry,” Hathaway says of costar and fellow Oscar-winner Matthew McConaughey. “I remember once while we were filming, something got screwed up, and he said to me, ‘Look, we can get upset about this, or we can go with it and have a great story for the rest of our lives.'”
We’re glad that Hathaway doesn’t care what the haters say, and that she’s much happier with her life these days. And yes, we will be watching Interstellar when it hits the screens in November.
