Jason Derulo blamed his split from Jordin Sparks on her increasing pressure for a wedding, but a sexpot model is telling a far different story.
The “Talk Dirty” singer recently told Ryan Seacrest that he dumped the American Idol winner because she and various unnamed “others” were pushing him to put a ring on it. While that may or may not be the case, there’s another factor involved too: Derulo’s alleged cheating.
Model Carmen Ortega has come forward to claim she had a brief fling with the star over the summer — but says she had no idea he was taken.
“We dated for a month,” Ortega told Star magazine. “We went out in public with friends a few times, so I assumed he didn’t have a girlfriend.”
Once she found out about Sparks, Ortega says she kicked him to the curb. “I cut ties with him immediately,” she explained. “He tried telling me their relationship was strictly fueled by management teams. He lied to me the entire time.”
This isn’t the first time Ortega has claimed a celeb has cheated with her. In 2009, she said she had an affair with Reggie Bush while he was dating Kim Kardashian.

Derulo has not commented on Ortega’s claims specifically, but in a general statement about the breakup to US Weekly, he denied cheating played any part in the split.
“I spent three great years with Jordin and she is one of the most amazing people that I have ever met. But as in all relationships there are ups and downs and at this time we have decided to amicably part,” he told the mag.
“Infidelity, cheating or deceit played no part in our relationship or our breakup, and I hope that people respect our privacy as we move forward with our lives.”
Derulo and Sparks were last spotted together at the 2014 MTV Video Music Awards on Aug. 24.
