Tiger Woods is taking his latest venture off the golf course and into the dining room. On Tuesday, the golf great announced that he is opening his own restaurant in Jupiter, Florida.
The establishment will be called The Woods Jupiter: Sports and Dining Club and it will be located in a brand-new development, Harbourside Place. It is set to open in 2015 and will be a place where “people can meet friends, watch sports on TV and enjoy a great meal. I wanted to build it locally where I live and where it could help support the community,” said Woods in a public statement.

The 5,900 square-foot dining room hasn’t established a particular menu yet, so there’s no word on what type of cuisine fans can expect. However, the new development is expected to be an upscale project on the waterfront with retail space, a four-star hotel and a 15,000 square-foot amphitheater.
The athlete has always had an eclectic palate when it comes to food. According to Golf.com, his early menu choices at the Masters champions dinner included cheeseburgers and milk shakes. His later wins had fancier fare like sushi, fajitas and porterhouse steaks.
Lindsey Vonn is definitely not going to marry Tiger Woods
Woods said, “I’ve been watching Harbourside Place’s development since it broke ground more than two years ago, and know that it is the perfect location for my sports and dining club.”
While this is his first sole investment in a restaurant, Woods was an investor in the theme restaurant the All Star Café, which spawned eight franchises. The restaurants went belly-up in 1999 when the parent company, Planet Hollywood, filed for bankruptcy.
The Buzz Agency’s Julie Mullen, who is handling PR for the restaurant, told Golf.com to expect a very involved approach from Woods. She said, “This is not somebody buying his name to use as a franchise. This is a project [Tiger] is very involved in. He’s going to be very hands-on.”
