The beginning of the AHS: Freak Show trailer may have revealed a new character (VIDEO)

The new trailer for American Horror Story: Freak Show reveals some fantastic hints for the new season, including what appears to be a cool new character.

Now that we’re just one week (yay!) away from the premiere of the latest season of AHS, there is a new trailer to give fans a real taste of the show. Like every other piece of information that has been released about the new season, the video is beyond freaky.

American Horror Story: Could Jessica Lange finally be one of the good guys this season?

One thing that is fascinating about the video is the fact that one of the freakiest characters in it is presented as a “normal” person. Watch the first part of the video and see what you think of the guy who demands to see some freaks because he is bored. If that’s not a bona fide freak, I’m sure I don’t know what is.

The rest of the one-minute video is narrated by Sarah Paulson. Since she is playing conjoined twins, it’s impossible at this point to know exactly which one is doing the narrating, but it sounds like the story might be told from both of the sisters’ points of view. One of them sees the world as a dark and scary place full of abuse, while the other sees it as a place full of wonderment and hope.

American Horror Story teasers deliver on terror (VIDEO)

All of the characters seen in previous sneak-peek videos are also in the video, but there are some new additions, as well, and one of them is very exciting. The beginning of the video shows a glimpse of returning character, Pepper, with what appears to be another new character. In the quick scene, Pepper is seen walking out to appease the creepy man’s request for freaks. Behind her is another person who bears a striking resemblance to Pepper, though this character looks to be male.

Could this new character be Pepper’s brother? He looks like he could be similar in age to her. In fact, they could be close enough in age to be twins. If that’s the case, what happened to this mysterious brother? Where was he by the time fans met Pepper in the Asylum episodes, where her character was first introduced? Since Freak Show takes place some years before the events in Asylum, one has to wonder if maybe he was killed by the crazed clown that also makes an appearance in the new trailer. Or did he meet another, equally sad, fate before Pepper found herself locked away in that awful place?
