Teresa Giudice reveals how she really feels about going to jail

Teresa Giudice just learned she is going to be spending 15 months in jail, and she shared her initial reaction to her sentencing and how concerned she is for her four daughters.

One day after a judge ordered her to serve over a year in prison, Giudice sat down with Andy Cohen on Watch What Happens Live and spilled her feelings on her whole gruesome situation. The reality star admitted she was super-shocked and couldn’t believe she was actually going to the slammer for 15 months.

“I was so nervous yesterday that I was shaking,” she told Cohen. “My nerves were pulling. At one point I couldn’t move my fingers. They were stuck. I couldn’t open my hands. My nerves were shot. I’ve had sleepless nights. I — of course, I was shocked. It was very unexpected. I don’t even know what to say.”

Once she got over the shock of her new reality, Giudice had another revelation. She realized she was extremely worried about how her daughters would fare while she’s away. She feels her husband may not be able to be there for her girls the way she has been.

“My husband is a great father, a great husband, but I do everything with my daughters. I’m the one that’s hands-on,” she said. “All I’ve said to my husband is, ‘Please take care of our daughters, that’s all I ask. You’ve gotta do what I do.'”

Giudice’s husband, Joe, will go to prison himself for 41 months after his wife is released, and she will then take care of the girls on her own while he serves his longer sentence.

Fortunately, Giudice’s oldest daughter, 13-year-old Gia, told her mom that everything will be OK, saying, “Mommy, don’t worry about it. I’ll be there.” Gia is the one daughter the Real Housewives of New Jersey star worries about the most, but the teen assured her she would be all right.

“[Gia] said, ‘That’ll make me a better mom,'” Giudice continued. “‘That’ll prepare me for when I’m a mom.’ Oh my god, it broke my heart when she said that. She said the one person she was worried about was me.”

Giudice’s interview on Watch What Happens Live will air Monday night at 9/8c.
