Selena Gomez may have previously revealed that she doesn’t always find it easy to cope with the pressures of her fame, but she does use her celebrity for good.

Gomez surprised dozens of young cancer patients on Wednesday by visiting them at the Children’s Hospital Los Angeles, in California, where she took some time to get to know them.
“Selena took the time to stop and visit with each one, hear their stories, give hugs, share laughs and provide encouragement,” the hospital said in a statement to E! News. “It was a much-needed lift for these children and their families during an incredibly difficult time.”
The pop princess also shared pictures of some of the sick children that she met, and she posed with the kids near their hospital beds.

The former Disney Channel star’s visit was certainly appreciated by the patients, and according to E! News, the hospital was also very glad she had visited.
“We are so grateful for genuine kindness and compassion for our patients, families and the staff who care for them,” the hospital said of Gomez.

Gomez also took to Twitter to share the news that she was spending time at the children’s hospital.

This is not the first time that Gomez, just like her BFF Taylor Swift, has dedicated time to helping the youths of today as a celebrity ambassador, or by visiting sick children, and we applaud her for her efforts!
