Zach Galifianakis showed up on the red carpet of the Birdman premiere on Saturday night in New York City and he stunned the crowd. The formerly chunky comedian looked barely recognizable with his new slim physique.
While he had originally lost a few pounds last year, the Hangover star appeared to be in even better shape this year. He explained to Conan O’Brien in May 2013 what he had to give up to shake off the weight.

He said, “I stopped drinking and I just kind of put the weight off… I was having a lot of vodka with sausage… delicious but bad for you. I was getting into too much trouble with the drinking, so I just kind of stopped.”
While Galifianakis isn’t getting into trouble by drinking now, Hollywood might be a bit mad at him for mouthing off at how much the town loves itself.
He told The Hollywood Reporter at the New York Film Festival’s closing night, “It’s confusing to me — all of this is confusing to me. They oversell it like we’re curing cancer, you know what I mean? I just think it can be gross sometimes, the way Hollywood congratulates itself all the time.”

This was just a continuation of comments he had made earlier in the day at the Birdman press screening about the fact that being a celebrity isn’t really a job, being an actor is.
He said, “Being a celebrity is shit — it’s dumb and I’m not interested in it. I like to be an actor, and that’s it. The blurred lines are, I think man-made. I think celebrity is a man-made thing, it’s not innate in us, we have people telling us, ‘We should pay attention to these people,” for all the wrong reasons, their personal lives and whatnot… I’d rather just do my work and go home and watch Lifetime.”
It seems that Galifianakis might have lost the weight, but he certainly didn’t lose his opinions.
