Kesha, whose real name is Kesha Rose Sebert, is desperate to cut all ties with her longtime producer Dr. Luke, but it looks as though he’s not going to let her break her contract without a fight.
Kesha makes shocking claims against Dr. Luke in new lawsuit
As previously reported, Kesha has made some shocking allegations against Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Sebastian “Luke” Gottwald, in her new lawsuit, including the fact that he allegedly abused her physically, sexually, emotionally and verbally. And while this lawsuit is undoubtedly going to be very, very ugly, Kesha and her lawyer Mark Geragos have no plans to back down.
“We are prepared to fight until he agrees to get out of her life once and for all,” Geragos told People magazine.
Many fans are wondering: If the abuse has been going on for years, why hasn’t the “We R Who We R” singer said anything until now?
“She’s made efforts, [but] she is not a confrontational person,” Geragos explained. “The efforts were always met with psychological warfare, [predatory behavior] and things of that ilk. She finally got to a place where she is surrounded by people that are supportive enough that she felt like she could finally do it, and felt like she needed to do it. She just couldn’t go on this way. Getting out of the contract is really secondary to extricating herself from his control.”
Dr. Luke denies claims he caused Ke$ha’s eating disorder
It’s been well-documented that Kesha has been fighting her own personal demons, and earlier this year, she checked into rehab for an eating disorder. But her lawyer insists she’s in a much better place with her life right now, and although no one wants to be dragged through a messy lawsuit, she’s ready to free herself from the grip of Dr. Luke, once and for all.
“Obviously nobody wants to get embroiled in litigation and making things public like this, but she understands she has to take a stand. I applaud her bravery for speaking to a broader societal issue of domestic violence. This speaks to an untold story in this industry and society at large,” her lawyer explained.

It’s evident that Kesha no longer wants to work with Dr. Luke, so why would he not just cut her loose?
Her lawyer believes it’s because it’s “a money and power issue.”
“He’s got more money than anyone could need in a lifetime, and it’s about power, which is always the case in these predatory-type situations. He’s decided that he is going to destroy her, and that’s been his mission.”
