Amal Alamuddin Clooney is the real star in her marriage: Here’s why

Besides just having married one of the world’s most popular actors, Amal Alamuddin Clooney is quickly catching up to her husband’s popular status all on her own.

Just a couple of weeks after her lavish wedding to George Clooney, the Lebanese lawyer has now been named the most influential woman in London. The gorgeous barrister returned to England from a four-day trip to Athens where she had meetings with that country’s government regarding the Elgin marbles statues from Britain.

It’s human rights issues like Greece’s battle to repatriate the ancient statues that have put Amal Clooney on the radar. As a result, she is possibly becoming even more popular than her American actor husband. In her efforts to solve the problem, Amal told The Times that Greece may have a “just cause” in the matter.

“In a world of intractable conflicts,” Amal said, “here is one that can be solved in a way that can benefit both parties and humankind altogether.” The young attorney also insisted “it’s high time for the British museum to recognize” that the statues should be handed back to Greece.

Amal Clooney is not only the most influential Londoner woman, but she made it to number four on The Evening Standard‘s coveted list of overall influential people in London. She actually beat leading men such as British Prime Minister David Cameron, world-renowned physicist Stephen Hawking and even Prince Harry.

The brunette stunner was placed just behind politicians George Osbourne and Boris Johnson, and Deep Mind technologies founder Demis Hassabis. Amal also beat the Duchess of Cambridge, who actually didn’t even make the list this year. Princess Kate did, however, make Time magazine’s Most Influential People in the World list last year.

At this rate, Amal will possibly be topping Time’s renowned list soon enough herself.
