In LaBeouf’s latest film, Fury, he plays a soldier whose nickname is “Bible.” It turns out that, at the same time LaBeouf was playing the character, he was finding God in his own way. According to Extra, the actor spoke with Interview magazine about how Brad Pitt and Fury director David Ayers helped him find himself.
“I found God doing Fury. I became a Christian man, and not in a f***ing bulls*** way, in a very real way,” LaBeouf said. “I could have just said the prayers that were on the page, but it was a real thing that really saved me.”
LaBeouf explained that even though Pitt is not a traditional Christian, Pitt was instrumental in guiding him in his journey. He explained, “I had good people around me who helped me. Brad was really instrumental in guiding my head through this. Brad comes from a hyper-religious, very deeply Christian, Bible-Belt life, and he rejected it and moved toward an unnamed spirituality. Whereas David is a full subscriber to Christianity — but these two diametrically opposed positions both lead to the same spot, and I really looked up to both men.”

Pitt has previously expressed his gratitude for knowing LaBeouf as well, calling him “one of the best actors I’ve ever seen,” according to The Wrap.
“He’s full-on commitment, man. He’s living it like no one else, let me tell you,” Pitt explained to British GQ back in September. “I’ve been fortunate to work with a lot of great actors. He’s one of the best I’ve seen.”
