After the Catholic Church did not react very positively to her brother, Frankie Grande, for being gay, Ariana Grande decided it was time for her to ditch the religion. In turn, she and Frankie decided to join the somewhat controversial religious sect known as Kabbalah.
The singer felt she had to stand up for her sibling, who is best known for his Big Brother stint, and she could not continue to follow Catholicism if it wasn’t on board with her brother’s sexual orientation.
Yanis Marshall struts all over Ariana Grande’s “Break Free”
“When my brother was told that God didn’t love him, I was like, ‘OK, that’s not cool,” Grande told the Daily Mail. “They were building a Kabbalah centre in Florida so we both checked it out and really had a connection with it.”
Like Madonna, Demi Moore and other A-listers, Grande and her brother are now practicing members of the Kabbalah sect of Judaism. Not only has the “Break Free” star made a big switch in religious beliefs, but she also feels it has changed her in drastic ways.
Hot new couple alert: Are Ariana Grande and Big Sean dating?
“My life has unfolded in a really beautiful way, and I think that it has a lot to do with the tools I’ve learned through Kabbalah, I really do,” Grande said. “You have to watch your intentions, make sure you’re not giving in to your ego. You have to numb your reactive state. You have the power to change your reality.”
Sources close to Grande say that she’s very into the religion and has become way too serious about it. “She wears the red string bracelet and everything. She is totally obsessed with Kabbalah now; her friend got her into it. She says she is Jewish. She studies all the books and everything.”
Ariana Grande is all grown up and she’s willing to prove it
Sounds like Grande may be a bit over-the-top with Kabbalah, and from what other people have said about the contentious sect, we hope she is going in with open eyes and some common sense.
