Surprise, surprise: Teresa Giudice is trying to squirm her way out of jail

Honestly, this news should come as no surprise to anyone: Teresa Giudice doesn’t want to go to jail. In fact, she’s trying to squirm her way out of doing all 15 months in prison.

The issue started when Giudice sent a request to the court to serve her sentence at Danbury Federal Prison in Connecticut. The jail is familiar to Netflix viewers because it’s the prison Orange Is the New Black is based on.

This filing was against the wishes of her crisis manager, Wendy Feldman, who has been trying to get the best deal possible for the reality star. As a result, Feldman quit the case.

She told Us Weekly, “Sadly, my time with Teresa has come to an end. My client relationships are very important to me; however, today’s filing regarding Teresa’s Bureau of Prisons designation request was not done with my knowledge or input. I am not the consultant referred to in filing. This is clearly not the first time my advice has not been followed, but this is the time where the stakes are the highest. Both for my clients and myself, I work hard to maintain a strong relationship with the Bureau of Prisons. As I’ve tried to instruct Teresa, this is a process that must be respected. A designation to a camp is a gift, not a requirement from the BOP and the judge.”

Another thing theReal Housewives of New Jersey personality doesn’t seem to understand is the issue of consequences.

The court expert warned, “By making this request, Teresa has jeopardized months of work, months of preparation and in fact may jeopardize where she is ultimately designated or sent to. My ultimate responsibility is to all of my clients, not just to Teresa. I’m hopeful that, at some point, a change occurs and rehabilitation begins. My thought and wishes will always be with her children. I’m well-known for investing my heart and soul into my clients and today’s decision didn’t come lightly or without prior events leading up to this.”

TMZ reported that the letter Giudice filed with the court even went a step further and asked for a halfway house sentencing versus prison. She wants to invoke her rights under the Second Chance Act to spend 12 months of her 15-month sentence in the halfway house. Prosecutors are standing firm and maintaining that she should be in prison for the entire time.

It looks like you can’t teach an old dog new tricks after all.
