10 Most memorable Barbara Walters moments
Barbara Walters and ABC News confirmed on Tuesday that the legendary host will be returning for one more year of the TV special, Most Fascinating People, despite previously marketing last year’s show as the last.
ABC must have made Walters an offer she couldn’t refuse. Either that or Walters is just not very good at retirement at all. Not that we blame the network or Walters, for that matter. We can’t possibly imagine anyone stepping into her shoes.
Neil Patrick Harris, Chelsea Handler, Scarlett Johansson and Oprah Winfrey have already been announced on the 2014 list, which Walters confirmed in her statement informing everyone of her return to the program.

“I was absolutely delighted when ABC approached me to do another year of 10 Most Fascinating People,” Walters said in the statement. “I know we said last year was our last, but there are just too many fascinating people out there… and you never pass up the opportunity to interview Oprah, Neil, Chelsea or Scarlett.”
The show first aired in 1993 and has been a big ratings hit each year ever since.
The traditionally two-hour show features interviews with the most influential people in entertainment and pop culture from the previous year. This year’s show is scheduled to air Sunday, Dec. 14 at 9 p.m.

Last year, people who made Walters’ list included pop singer Miley Cyrus, NSA whistleblower Edward Snowden, pop diva Jennifer Lopez and former first lady and secretary of state Hillary Clinton.
We think other candidates for Walters’ remaining six slots on the show this year should include Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn, Amal Alamuddin Clooney, Ben Affleck,Taylor Swift, Matthew McConaughey and, last but certainly not least, Beyoncé.
