Carmen Electra recently opened up to Oprah Winfrey’s Where Are They Now? series about her very brief marriage to former NBA star Dennis Rodman, and the former Baywatch actress doesn’t have terribly fond memories of the relationship.
Electra recalled how she met Rodman, not long after losing her mother to a brain tumor.

“I got a call in the hospital that my mom was in the hospital… a couple days after coming home, my mom died,” an emotional Electra recalled. “Once again, my life changed, but not in a good way. I just went into self-destruction.”
“I remember meeting Dennis, and Dennis was the life of the party. He was fun,” Electra explained, adding, “People couldn’t understand why I loved him because he had a reputation for being a bad boy. What I saw in the beginning was this gentle giant that was in a lot of pain,” she explained. “So in a way we understood each other.”

The couple got married at a chapel in Las Vegas, Nevada, in 1988, but split about a year later. Electra had a stormy relationship with Rodman, although not everything was bad.
“Our relationship was very passionate. When it was good, it was amazing. And when it was bad, it was the worst,” she said.
But there was obviously more bad in the relationship than good, which made the two call it quits so quickly.
In fact, according to TMZ, shortly before the couple divorced, they were both arrested in 1999 for allegedly battering each other during a domestic dispute — but the charges were eventually dropped.
