Are Kesha’s sex abuse claims real or revenge?

Kesha has made some shocking claims against Dr. Luke, but are they true? A deposition she made in 2011 may hurt her case.

In a recent lawsuit, the “Tik Tok” singer accused her longtime producer of drugging and raping her on multiple occasions and asked a judge to release her from her contract with Dr. Luke based on her abuse claims. But a deposition Kesha gave in another case back in 2011 directly contradicts this.

TMZ uncovered the sworn statement, in which Kesha is asked directly if Dr. Luke ever gave her a roofie or if she ever had an “intimate relationship” with him. She answered “no” to both questions.

A judge ruled that the deposition be unsealed so Dr. Luke’s legal team could use it as part of his defense in the current case — and Kesha’s lawyer is furious.

Kesha’s lawyer says Dr. Luke is out to destroy her

Mark Geragos told The Hollywood Reporter that the deposition was “coerced,” saying, “In every courtroom in every county, in battered women-type of cases, you have equivocal statements of ‘I don’t know.’ This is part and parcel of sexual abuse.”

Geragos called Dr. Luke’s use of the deposition classic victim blaming, adding to TMZ that Kesha lied under oath because, “Luke walked Kesha down the beach and threatened to destroy Kesha’s life and the lives of her family if she didn’t cover up his sexual assaults.”

This is consistent with Kesha’s current lawsuit, in which she states, “Dr. Luke repeatedly threatened that if she ever told anyone about these abusive incidents, he would destroy both Ms. Sebert and her entire family. … Ms. Sebert wholly believed that Dr. Luke had the power and money to carry out his threats; she therefore never dared talk about, let alone report, what Dr. Luke had done to her.”
